Willie Lenwood ''Bill'' Hux, 87, of Roanoke Rapids passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2013. He was the son of the late Mary Lee and Louis Pender Hux.

Bill served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of Smith United Methodist Church. He loved making ''Uncle Bill's BBQ Sauce''.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Erma Powell Hux; daughter, Velna R. Hux of Roanoke Rapids; 2 sisters, Mary H. Simmons and husband, Coleman of Littleton, Julie Ann Fitts of Roanoke Rapids; sisters-in-law, Anne Draper and husband, Howell of Yorktown, VA, Judy Smith and husband, Billy of Roanoke Rapids, Louise Roach of Roanoke Rapids; brothers-in-law, Robert Powell, Jr. and wife, Gwen, William Powell and wife, Lynn, all of Roanoke Rapids; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Smith United Methodist Church on Friday, November 29, 2013 at 2:00 PM, officiated by Rev. Tom Schwartz.

The family will receive friends after the service in the church Fellowship Hall.
